Growing up in Northern Norway, I developed a close relationship with the landscapes around me — the sea, mountains, shifting light and changing weather. These environments continue to shape the way I see and create, alongside experiences from people, travels and places I encounter.

Rather than depicting landscapes directly, I am interested in their rhythm, materiality and emotional presence. I am particularly drawn to the tension between stillness and movement — between something soft and something raw, the calm and the powerful.

My paintings are created intuitively, often through layers of acrylic, oil and texture. I work with organic forms, movement, contrasts and traces of earlier layers, allowing the painting to develop gradually rather than following a fixed plan.

Working predominantly on large canvases allows the physicality of the process to become part of the work. I want the paintings to feel atmospheric and tactile — open enough for the viewer to find their own associations, memories and sense of place.
